Today is a two parter...
The first show was a little less than perfect...half way through the sound board crashed and we had no music. The show IS a musical so this was a little problematic. I talked through a little bit of singing that I had, but then in the next scene they actually brought down the curtain and held the show so they could reboot the board. Oh the beauty of live theatre!
The second show went so well though! I was excited because I had a friend at this one AND our composer was there again. It helps to have a little nervous energy to keep my on my toes. I felt like it was one of our best shows yet. After the show (and a long line of autograph signings...) I headed out to Lala land with my friend Chris! He lives around the block from the Kodak Theatre and Graumans Chinese Theatre so we headed there first...SO COOL! They are getting ready for the Oscar's next weekend and they already have the bleachers set up to watch the red carpet. The huge Oscar statue was outside the Kodak as well...but we was under plastic to keep his golden sheen asparkle for next weekend. I was literally starstruck by some of the hand prints I saw at the Graumans...Judy Garland, Cary Grant, Groucho Marx, Meryl, Clark, Johnny Depp....SO many! AH! I am in love with old Hollywood as of late! It makes me want to don a curly up do and put on some red lipstick...
After a little bit of sight seeing we got some tasty Thai food and chatted like old buddies do! He was able to drive me back to my hotel (a 3o minute drive...not too bad for L.A....thanks Chris!) by 10:30! What a productive day and I still get some good sleepy time!
We are leaving for Vegas in the morn! Woohoo! Luck be a lady...
XO.
